The Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP is a high performance, summer tire made for passenger vehicles. This tire offers a secure summer weather performance. The optimal summer compound and the tread design increase its grip in dry and wet weather conditions, while the groove pattern actively avoids hydroplaning with the water eliminating ability. The tire is not suited for winter weather performance.
The Zero Pressure, or ZP for short, technology enables the tire’s limited temporary performance in case of air pressure loss. Once air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, is can still be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph. This prevents the vehicle from being stranded on the side of the road, allowing for a safer performing capability. Run flat tires cannot be mounted together on the same vehicle with regular tires.
The Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP promotes excellent steering responsiveness and driving stability, thanks to the lowered overall tire weight. It eases the driving pressure off the tire and ensures its constant surface contact to provide a faster and more accurate steering responsiveness, while also stabilizing the structure against the driving pressure affecting the model. The special bi-compound shortens the braking distance by boosting the tire’s gripping ability and traction at the moment of braking. The Variable Contact Patch 2.0 technology enables the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure, actively avoiding irregular tread wear formations and lengthening the tread life and usability.
