The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 is a performance, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire is marked with the industry's three mountain peak and snowflake symbol for enhanced traction, even in the harshest winter weather. Its excellent traction is the result of the special sunflower oil infused Helio compound that maintains its road gripping ability, even in colder winter weather temperatures. The tire's directional tread design is able to grip onto the road in all winter conditions. The lateral and circumferential grooves avoid hydroplaning by eliminating water and slush from below the tire footprint, which increases the winter weather driving safety.
The tire's tread pattern features snow platform indicators. They show the tread wear rate and notify the driver when the superb winter weather compound is about to wear out. When the model's winter traction is lost, it is not recommended to use it further for extreme winter conditions.
The Helio compound also increases the tire's fuel efficiency. As it increases the winter weather traction, it takes the driving pressure off of the tire. This decreases the rolling resistance, which is the force that determines the amount of energy that will be used by the vehicle to maintain the tires motion. The lowered rolling resistance reduces the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the vehicle, making the tire more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Pilot Alpin PA3 guarantees a comfortable driving experience with the internal structure's reinforced steel belts. They maintain constant road contact, without letting the tire deform under the driving pressure. The tire follows the road surface closely and it reduces the vibrations felt in the cabin of the vehicle as a result. The BAZ technology reinforces these internal twin steel belts and prevents them from deforming. As the tire does not deform under the driving pressure, it improves the high speed driving durability. This enables the tire to perform to its highest capability.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
