The Nitto Crosstek 2 is a highway terrain, all season tire for SUVs and light trucks. It has some touring, passenger sizes too. Nitto offers a 50-60,000 mile treadwear warranty with new tires. The model offers a quiet and comfortable driving experience. The tread design lowers the road noise heard while the tires are in motion. The circumferential groove’s wall serration disrupts the airflow to help minimize the road noise heard by the passengers.
The model was designed with three wide circumferential grooves and numerous sipes running across the tread area. The circumferential grooves enhance the wet weather traction and actively prevent hydroplaning with their water evacuating ability. The 3D Multi-Wave Sipes improve the wet and winter weather road gripping ability, while also restricting tread flexibility and movement.
The Nitto Crosstek 2’s stiff tread avoids irregular tread wear forming across the tread area. These sipes have interlocking cuts that prevent tread flexibility and, as the tread elements do not shift around, even wear is guaranteed. This, along with the Alignment Indicators, ensure that the tread wear is even for a longer service life. The Alignment Indicators are located in six places on both shoulders, parallel to one another. Their tread wear notes whether the tire’s alignment is correct or not. If their wear is not uniform, it means that the alignment is out of line and the vehicle needs to be checked.
